Good vs better vs best!

We all want BEST Results.

But when it comes to changing the process, we choose to settle with “at least” good and better options.

Excellence needs to be brave. And unschooling/parenting will never mean to be

I am doing some “unschooling”

The other day i was having discussion with one of the parents and she was saying how she has followed most of the unschooling principles.

How she does not force her child for anything.

Her son is around 18 year old. She goes on to say, not everything about school is bad “he learnt playing flute in school”. She told me , her son is good in cooking, i never stopped him.

She said that your idea of

Let’s say you have fire in the house, and I offer you three options .

  1. First, you come out by yourself and get no help.
  2. Second, i call neighbours to use buckets and water
  3. I start water pipe and use fire extinguisher and give you breathing masks.

Any sane person will choose the third option. But when it comes to unschooling options

  1. First, keep child in school and make no change in how he lives and learns
  2. Second, keep child in school, but do not pressurise him and allow him to play more
  3. Third, take him out of school, work on giving him LIFE experiences, follow his passion and LIVE life rather than preparing for it.

Most parents choose not the BEST but the SECOND option. Rarely they opt for the third one.

“At least we don’t force our kids for home work. At least we allow them to play more”

– A parent who is convinced about unschooling but scared to take action

Why people choose for LESSER

  • safety Certainty
  • Lack of Clarity
  • Compliance

I want the BEST for my child. I want him to live the BEST happiest life.
