Schools rarely teach manyof the essential knowledge. We need to know general understanding of what something is. For example, you do not need to sit in a history class to understand basic essentials of what happened in history.
You learn through movies, fiction and storybooks. Memorizing the names of the kings and when they were born is mostly unnecessary.
