What’s wrong with tests and exams (lottery system)

While we are obsessed about tests, the tests do not really test how much a child knows. But how much they remember, their language skills (ability to write what they know) and not the knowledge itself.

this means that for different types of skills there must be differnet type of tests and this may require individualized system. But this is very difficult so to standardize the process, we have a single type of test system that tests for memory

now this is unfair because a child might have studied a lot , knows a lot about the topic, but because of bad luck, he did nt get questions.

Do we want learning assessment to work like a lottery system ? Is it a fair model?
